Forbes recently released its list of the 400 richest people in the world, and Palm Beach makes a strong showing. The city has long been known as a glitzy home for the jet set, and this list confirms Palm Beach’s A-list reputation.
The list was even harder to get on than it was last year, with the least-wealthy person in 2015 having $1.7 billion, an increase from last year’s $1.5 billion.
Palm Beach is home to one percenters from a variety of industries. Heading the pack is energy magnate and political activist David Koch with $41 billion. Republican front runner and real estate tycoon Donald Trump, who has a house in Palm Beach, came in at 121st on the list with an estimated fortune of $4.5 billion. Ike Perlmutter, the mysterious and photo-shy had of Marvel Comics, also made the list with $3.9 billion.
While this list highlights how many of the world’s wealthiest folks choose to live in Palm Beach, it should be noted that the same things that drive the wealthy here, like the beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and great restaurants, are available to everyone!
