Last week, Boca Helping Hands held an event called Miracle Chef in which teams of cooks competed against each other to make amazing food using recovered ingredients. The teams were all made of Helping Hands volunteers who spend the rest of the year using recovered ingredients to create 200 hot meals and countless bagged lunches every day. Helping Hands recovered 1.8 million pounds of food last year in its efforts to feed the hungry with ingredients that would otherwise be wasted.
