The Wick Theatre is staging a version of the classic musical Hello Dolly with a pretty zany twist. Broadway legend Lee Roy Reams, who is directing this production, cast himself to play the titular (female) role! Those expecting the cross-dressing to result in a camp-fest will be disappointed. Lee Roy, who was one of Broadway’s greatest dancers and directed Hello Dolly during its 1995 Broadway revival, plays the role with heart, and his version of the musical tries to find the emotional core of the story.
