In what seems to be even more good news for the local business community, crews are reportedly ahead of schedule in completing construction on Palm Beach County's first convention center hotel. If the weather cooperates and current trends continue, then it could be open by the beginning of next year. Plans began for the Hilton West Palm Beach hotel more than 10 years ago after the convention center opened, and estimates place the total cost of completion at around $125 million. The facility will offer 400 rooms, which includes 25 suites, as well as two ballrooms, restaurants, bars, a fitness center, and upscale pool area. Food services will reportedly be run by a well-regarded local chef. The goal is to offer “a very lush resort feel” where guests can do business but also relax. The new Hilton is expected to be a boon to the local economy, with more than 1,500 jobs added and $1 billion generated across the next 10 years.
